How do you measure your worth?

There is so much going on in the world right now. Often times we get caught up in worldly things and lose sight of what’s most important. Your relationship with God. Your soul. In the end, it doesn’t matter what you look like, how high your GPA is, what kind of car you drive, or how much money you make. The world will trick you into believing that these things define you. And they might measure you by these things, but God doesn’t. God measures your heart.

Here are two qualities that show what you’re worth:

You are made in the image of God.

“God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Genesis 1:27

Society does a good job at making people think that they have to look or act a certain way to be accepted. Social media is full of “flawless” celebrities, and it’s so easy to start comparing yourself to them. This can lead to the feeling of “I am not enough.” If you ever find yourself feeling this way, remember your Creator, His power, His omniscience, and His grace. You are his masterpiece. He made you for a reason. Never forget that.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”
Psalm 139:14

God loves you.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

You don’t have to question your self-worth because God showed you exactly what you are worth. He says that you are worth the blood of Christ. You are worth salvation. Even though you’re imperfect, flawed, and broken. How amazing is it that the same God that spoke the universe into existence loves you that deeply?

If you ever feel worthless, remember that you are made in God’s image and that He loves you more than you could ever imagine. Stay near to Him. He will never let you down!
