My name is Lauren Tidwell. I currently live in Nashville, TN and work in the Christian music industry at a record label. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. I lived in Tuscaloosa my whole life until around June of 2014 when I packed everything up and moved to Nashville to pursue a crazy dream to be in the music industry.
Tide 4 Christ came into my life at a crucial time. I had just graduated high school and was looking for a way to get involved in a college ministry. I came across Tide 4 Christ and Central Church of Christ and knew it was the beginning of something great for me. I instantly felt at home, the people at Central and the kids involved in Tide 4 Christ left an everlasting impact on my life. The women at Central were so helpful in helping me prep for my big move and to jump-start my college life. They helped me realize the true meaning of inner beauty. I grew deeper spiritually with God and established relationships that have helped mold me into who I am today.
One of the fondest memories I have is going on a mission trip to Panama, Central America. First, piece of advice – if you ever get the chance to go on a mission trip take it! It was the best decision I’ve ever made and definitely impacted my life in a positive way. I left Panama with a renewed fire for Christ and all that He is and can do and a deeper understanding of how truly blessed I am.
Tide 4 Christ has definitely changed since I was last there. But, every time I come home and visit Central it’s amazing to see the growth and accomplishments they have achieved. The guidance and encouragement have helped me get where I am today. Even though, I was only able to spend a year active in Tide 4 Christ before moving away it still feels like home every time I return. Central and the amazing people that are the church will always be home for me.
Lauren Tidwell is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where she received a degree in Music Business/Marketing. Lauren is originally from Tuscaloosa and came to Tide 4 Christ during her time at Shelton State Community College. Thankful to have had her in the ministry.
