Every person has citizenship in some country. Some people have dual-citizenship, which means they are citizens of two countries. In a spiritual sense, we have our own citizenship. The moment we decided to become a follower of Him, we received our heavenly citizenship. This citizenship is something we so easily forget about as we become busy with our everyday lives. We become caught up with the not-so-important and forget about what is<\/em> important.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A verse that has become a huge part of my focus during this past year is Philippians 3:20<\/a> (NASB):<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As we go about our lives, we must recognize what we are truly living for. Our faith needs to be at the point where we know our fate once we exit this physical life. By acknowledging that our citizenship is in heaven, we can live as if this earth truly is our temporary home.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
If my mind is set on the right things, living as a citizen of heaven comes naturally. Colossians 3:1-2 says,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Therefore if you have been <\/span>raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, <\/span>seated at the right hand of God.<\/span> <\/span>Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Living for God can be tough at times, but when we took on the blood of Christ in baptism, we declared that we were ready for the challenge. Sometimes we need reminders of why we are here and who we are living for everyday.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
“This world is not my home; I’m just a passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from heaven’s open doors, and I can’t be at home in this world anymore.”<\/div>\n
