            After I graduated high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was never very book smart, so I had an extremely difficult time deciding what I wanted to major in and which college to attend. I decided to look through all of the programs that Shelton State Community College had to offer. The Machine Tool Technology Program really stuck out to me. I read up on the program, and I was immediately interested because it is very hands on. So, my decision had been made. I was going to attend Shelton State, which was convenient for me because I didn’t have to move away from home, and it was cheaper. <\/o:p><\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n
            A short time after I started my first semester of college, my family and I moved into a different house on the other side of town. We started attending Central Church of Christ because it was closer to our new house, and we eventually placed membership there. I knew of Tide 4 Christ, but I was hesitant to attend events because I’m not very good at meeting new people. I figured that since I went to Shelton State, I wouldn’t have anything in common with the group because, at the time, I was the only one in the group that attended Shelton State. Eventually, I got up the courage to attend a Monday night devotional. I sat off to the side because I was nervous and didn’t know a single person in the room. After the devotional concluded, I was overwhelmed by all of the people that walked up and introduced themselves to me. As I began to become more comfortable, I started to attend more and more T4C events. At first, I was a little bummed out being a Shelton State student because I can’t participate in intramural games or get student tickets for Alabama games. Other than those two little things, I have the same opportunities in T4C that University of Alabama students do.<\/o:p><\/span>

<\/span><\/div>\n
           Three years down the road, I’m a very active member of T4C. I have a group of friends that are always here for me no matter what. I’m certain that they will be with me for the rest of my life. Being in T4C has made me a better person, a better man, and\u2014most importantly\u2014a better Christian. I now have the confidence to walk the halls at Shelton State spreading the Gospel to others. I strive daily to let my light shine so that I can be an example of what T4C represents. I know, without a doubt, that joining Tide 4 Christ is the greatest opportunity I’ve ever had. Although my time in T4C is coming to an end in two semesters, it will always have a very special place in my heart. It gives me joy to know that later on in life, I’ll be able to look back on my time in T4C and think all about all the memories and friends that were made.<\/span><\/o:p><\/div>\n
