\u201cYou should pray about it\u201d is\nprobably advice that you\u2019ve heard throughout your life, no matter the\nsituation. There\u2019s a reason for that; it\u2019s the best thing you can do! Any\nconcern, problem, or worry you have, take it to your heavenly Father. This is a\nlesson that it took me a long time to learn, but it is absolutely the most\nvaluable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years ago, I was trying to\nprepare for my freshman year of college. I knew my entire life would change.\nI\u2019d move from Maryland to Alabama. I wouldn\u2019t be living with my family. I\nwouldn\u2019t be going to the church I grew up attending. Most importantly to me, I\nwouldn\u2019t know anyone. Every night, I prayed about this transition and I began\nto feel at peace, and even excited about it! I was right to be excited about\nit. When I got to campus, I joined Tide 4 Christ. I was able to find a great\ngroup of friends, some amazing roommates, and an encouraging church family! I\nknew that God had answered my prayers and had taken care of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past two years, the people\nin Tide 4 Christ have been there to support me and my walk with God. He gave me\na group of people that I could have fun with, connect with, and build lasting\nfriendships with. I met the people I went to football games with (Roll Tide!),\nwatched The Office and do homework with (in that order), went out to eat with\n(try Mugshots, trust me), and above all, relied on to be there when I need\nthem. Tide 4 Christ and the people I\u2019ve met there have really become my family\naway from home. God knew that I would need encouragement during this transition\nperiod in my life, and he definitely provided it. Fortunately, the\nencouragement of T4C didn\u2019t stop with me. The past two summers, T4C has also\nbeen able to send members to my home congregation in Maryland to serve as\ninterns. This program has been such a blessing to the small Calvert County\nChurch of Christ family and I\u2019m sure many other churches around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer is the way for you to\nconnect with God and tell him what\u2019s going on in your life, how you\u2019re feeling,\nand thank Him for everything He\u2019s done for you. Have you been going through a\nhard time? Pray about it! Stressed about tests and homework? Don\u2019t understand\nthe material in your classes? Pray about it! Feeling down on yourself? Gone\nthrough a breakup? Pray about it! Had the best day ever and feel like you\u2019re on\ntop of the world? Thank Him! Praying and being connected to God is the ONLY way\nto have true peace in your heart. I have been able to find real happiness and\ncontentness through prayer. I hope to encourage the people around me to get\ninvolved in the T4C family and find what I\u2019ve found as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m Priscilla Means and I\u2019m going to my junior year, studying chemical engineering. This year, I will be one of the women\u2019s ministry leaders. I\u2019m so excited for this opportunity to connect with everyone in the group! I know the ladies in T4C have some fun plans for this upcoming year, including a girls devo and movie nights!
